Shamita Shetty and Raqesh Bapat -– popularly known as ShaRa -– have announced their breakup on social media. The couple had met on the reality series Bigg Boss OTT, hosted by Karan Johar.
Raqesh confirmed the breakup on his Instagram Story and pleaded with their fans to continue showering love on them as individuals. He dedicated their upcoming music video to the ShaRa family.
Shamita, too, confirmed that they hadn’t been together for a while. She also asked fans to support their music video.
Shamita and Raqesh continue to follow each other on Instagram post-split. Neither has deleted the other’s photos from their social media handles, giving the hint that they have parted on a positive note.
After the breakup announcement, Shamita’s first post read, ‘She is both hellfire and holy water, the flavour you taste depends on how you treat her.’ The post comes after the trolling she has had to face following the confirmation of the breakup.
A few days before the breakup announcement, Raqesh also shared a similar cryptic post, in which his former wife and friend Ridhi Dogra, and Shamita’s singer friend Neha Bhasin showed support.
Since the beginning of their relationship, Shamita and Raqesh had been vocal about their love and adoration for each other. Raqesh was seen attending Shamita’s elder sister Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s daughter’s birthday and going on trips with Shamita and her mother.
Here’s an old post where Shamita and Raqesh tried a social media trend.
Here’s a video from the ex-couple’s Valentine’s Day celebration to which Raqesh’s ex-wife Ridhi wrote, ‘Be blessed you both.’
Both Shamita and Raqesh started their Bollywood careers around the same time. Shamita debuted with Mohabattein in 2000 and Raqesh with Tum Bin in 2001.
