It is hard to not get invested in the relationships of our favourite stars, and the recent breakup between star singer Shakira and Spanish footballer Gerard Pique has delivered a hard blow to us fans. While we are rooting for co-stars-turned-real-life couples like Tom Holland and Zendaya, the first half of 2022 has also seen a string of breakups, or relationships that are on the brink of a split. Here are some other celeb partings of this year that are leaving us heart-broken.

Though neither Tom Cruise or Hayley Atwell has confirmed it, there’s a strong buzz that the co-stars of Mission: Impossible movies (Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One & Part Two) are not dating anymore. Cruise and Atwell’s relationship took off in 2020 after they came together to shoot Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One. The couple had split up once in September 2021. They reignited their flame and had been together until recent reports surrounding their separation.

After being together since 2005 and being married since 2017, the Aquaman main man and the Road to Paloma actress announced their split in January 2021. The couple have a daughter, Lola Iolani Momoa, and a son, Nakoa-Wolf Manakauapo Namakaeha Momoa. Since their divorce, there have been speculations regarding the new woman in Jason’s life. He was seen attending the premiere of Ambulance starring Eiza Gonzalez but did not walk the red carpet with her.

Kim Kardashian appears to be going steady with comedian Pete Davidson. But things have not been so smooth on the dating front for Kanye West ever since Kardashian filed for divorce. The All of the Lights singer started dating actress-model Julia Fox towards the end of 2021. The couple confirmed their relationship in January 2022. However, West seemed to still be more invested in his past marriage as he kept talking about getting his family back and lashed out publicly at Davidson. In February 2022, after dating for around six months, West and Fox ended their relationship.

Another breakup that shocked fandoms in February 2022 was that of Déjà vu singer Olivia Rodrigo and producer Adam Faze. Having met in May 2021, they had been seen together frequently towards the latter half of the year. Keen-eyed fans noted how happy the singer looked with her beau, but they also took note when the two attended separate New Year parties. In January, Rodrigo dropped a more definite hint at the end of the relationship as she unfollowed Faze on Instagram.

Little Monsters actor Matthew Tyler Vorce became the target of cyberbullying after it was rumoured that he had cheated on Billie Eilish. The Bad Guy singer had been dating Tyler Vorce for around a year. The couple had been spotted getting cosy throughout 2021 but Eilish had not been vocal about the relationship. Since April 2022, the couple had not been spotted together. In May, via an Instagram story, Tyler Vorce announced the end of their relationship.

Most of us were delighted to welcome Andrew Garfield back as Spiderman in Spider-Man: No Way Home. But while his career continues on an upswing, Garfield’s relationship with model Alyssa Miller appears to have hit a deadend. There has been a buzz around their break-up, but Miller had posted a cute picture with Garfield in April apparently dismissing rumours with the caption, “If you must gossip, at least use a cute photo. Lol love you AG.” However, the image has since vanished from her Instagram, further bolstering the tale of a breakup among Spidey fans.
