Actor Shahid Kapoor has recently urged the South audience to accept Bollywood movies with an open heart, just as the Hindi-speaking people have accepted their movies.
“I don’t think that we should draw any line among Indian films, I would say to the Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada audiences to watch Hindi films. We all have to be open-hearted in terms of accepting films. Cinema will only grow when everyone can contribute,” said the actor during a recent interview while promoting his upcoming action thriller film Bloody Daddy, which is premiering today on Jio Cinema.
Citing the example of the Indian national cricket team, Shahid said working together would help everybody to add more value to their word. “I think everybody should work with each other because everybody can come together to add more value to ensure that more people go to theatres. But everybody should have the same attitude.”
Helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, Bloody Daddy follows an NCB officer (Shahid Kapoor) determined to rescue his son from the clutches of a notorious drug lord. As the story unfolds, unexpected twists and turns ensnare the officer in a web of complexities.
Based on the Frederic Jardin-directed 2011 French action thriller Sleepless Night, the Hindi film also stars Ronit Roy, Sanjay Kapoor, Rajeev Khandelwal, Diana Penty and Ankur Bhatia.
