Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s 2007 romantic comedy Jab We Met was re-released in theatres on February 9 as part of PVR-Inox’s Valentine’s Film Festival, the Jaane Jaan actress announced on Saturday.
“Never gets old… by god♥️ #ValentinesFilmFestival,” Kareena wrote alongside a reel showing iconic moments from the film on Instagram.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, Jab We Met follows the story of a reserved and serious businessman Aditya (Shahid), who meets a lively and free-spirited woman Geet (Kareena) after the latter misses her train. Their chance encounter leads to a series of adventures and self-discoveries as they travel together, eventually falling in love despite their contrasting personalities.
The video shared by Kareena showcases some of the iconic scenes from the film — the time when Geet missed her train, met Aditya for the first time and her “itni bhi sundar nahi hu main” dialogue in response to Shahid’s remark about keeping her in a museum for her chattering habit. It also includes scenes from the music video of the song Ye Ishq Hai sung by Irshad Kamil, Pritam Chakraborty and Shreya Ghoshal.
PVR-Inox had announced on Thursday that 26 romantic films — including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Titanic, Jab We Met, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Veer-Zaara and Sita Raman — will be screened from February 9 to 15 in 77 cities across the country. The films will be shown in 194 PVR theatres in India and in seven languages.
“Get ready to swoon all over again with the #ValentinesFilmFestival! PVR INOX is turning up the romance with a lineup of timeless love stories like DDLJ, Titanic, Jab We Met, and more, all on the big screen from February 9th to 15th,” they wrote on Instagram.
Jab We Met is now running in theatres alongside Shahid’s latest romcom Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya, also starring Kriti Sanon. The film, directed by Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah, collected over Rs 14 crore worldwide on its Day 1 in theatres.
