Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan set to replace Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 as second-highest grosser of 2023

The Atlee-helmed action-entertainer, also featuring Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, has collected Rs 521 crore nett in India so far

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan is set to eclipse Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 as the second-highest grossing film of 2023 at the domestic box office, generating Rs 521.04 crore net in less then two weeks of its release on September 7.

The Anil Sharma-helmed Gadar 2 has managed to collect Rs 521.35 crore nett in 41 days.

Jawan, which features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in key roles, minted a humongous Rs 75 crore nett on its opening day across all languages in India. It had a record-breaking Week 1 in theatres, raking in Rs 391.33 crore nett in eight days.

The Shah Rukh-starrer amassed an impressive haul of Rs 19.10 crore nett on the second Friday, followed by Rs 69.56 crore nett over the second weekend.

Jawan continued to earn in double digits in the weekdays as it earned Rs 16.25 crore nett on second Monday, followed by Rs 14.80 crore nett on second Tuesday and an additional Rs 10 crore nett on second Wednesday.

The film, which has an extended cameo appearance by Deepika Padukone, has also set the cash registers ringing globally, grossing approximately Rs 907 crore worldwide so far.
