Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan beats Baahubali 2’s collection, becomes third highest-grossing Hindi film of all time

The Atlee-helmed actioner has minted Rs 510.94 crore nett so far in Hindi and Rs 568.44 crore nett in all languages at the domestic box office

Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan has emerged as the third highest-grossing Hindi film of all time, leaving behind the lifetime collection of SS Rajamouli’s blockbuster epic Baahubali 2: The Conclusion by raking in Rs 510.94 crore nett at the domestic box office in 19 days, trade reports highlighted on Tuesday.

Prabhas-starrer Baahubali 2, which hit theatres in 2017, has a lifetime earning of Rs 510.44 crore nett in Hindi at the domestic box office.

Jawan minted Rs 5 crore nett in Hindi on Monday following a double-digit collection over the weekend. The Atlee directorial is now inching closer to the lifetime domestic collection of the Hindi versions of Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 (Rs 523 crore nett) and Shah Rukh’s Pathaan (Rs 524 crore nett).

Jawan, which released worldwide on September 7, is expected to emerge as the highest-grossing Hindi movie in the domestic market by the end of its fourth weekend, according to trade analysts.

With a collection of approximately Rs 57.5 crore nett in Tamil and Telugu dubbed versions, the total domestic earnings of the Atlee-helmed actioner now stand at Rs 568.44 crore nett in India.

The action drama crossed the Rs 1000-crore mark worldwide on Monday. Siddharth Anand-helmed spy action thriller Pathaan — also starring Deepika Padukone and John Abraham — crossed the Rs 1000-crore club in 28 days. However, Jawan managed to reach this milestone in merely 18 days.

Jawan began its box office journey on a resounding note as it accumulated a staggering Rs 391.33 crore nett in all languages within the span of its first eight days. Displaying incredible consistency in its second week, Jawan continued its stellar run, accumulating an impressive Rs 137.02 crore nett. The film's box office dominance showed no signs of waning as it went on to mint Rs 34.81 crore nett on the third weekend.

Jawan boasts an ensemble cast that includes Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Priyamani, Sunil Grover, and Eijaz Khan. Additionally, the film saw Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt play cameos.
