Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has achieved the highest-ever Day 1 advance booking for any Hindi film by selling over 1.5 lakh tickets for shows in PVR, INOX and Cinepolis in less than 24 hours since its bookings opened on Friday, highlight records with Box Office India.
At least 1.55 lakh tickets for the Atlee-helmed actioner were sold by 10am today, leaving behind Shah Rukh’s latest blockbuster Pathaan, which garnered an advance booking of 89,000 tickets in 24 hours.
The jaw-dropping ticket sales have already amassed an astonishing collection of Rs 8.13 crore gross for the Hindi version of the film. The total gross revenue, including the tickets booked for Tamil and Telugu versions of the film, is more than Rs 9 crore.
Box Office India predicts that the film, set to hit theatres on September 7, is expected to break all records with Rs 65 crore nett Day 1 earnings in India and Rs 125 crore worldwide gross.
Also starring Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, the film is produced by Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. It features Shah Rukh’s Pathaan co-star Deepika Padukone in a cameo.
