Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki is riding high on global success, raking in an impressive Rs 452.87 crore gross at the worldwide box office.
The official handle of Red Chillies Entertainment on X, announced the achievement on Thursday. “The world continues to ride along in this rollercoaster journey of Dunki! ,” it wrote alongside a poster featuring Shah Rukh Khan’s character from the film.
Despite its global triumph, Dunki seems to be struggling at the domestic box office. The film, now in its 22nd day of release, earned Rs 1.15 crore nett on Thursday, bringing its total domestic collection to Rs 221.77 crore.
The Rajkumar Hirani-helmed comedy drama, which delves into the clandestine world of ‘donkey flights’ used by Indians for illegal immigration to Europe and North America, also features Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal, Boman Irani, Vikram Kochhar, and Anil Grover in key roles.
Dunki marks Shah Rukh Khan's third consecutive blockbuster in the year 2023, following the successes of Pathaan and Jawan. Pathaan amassed an impressive Rs 1,050.30 crore gross globally, while Jawan achieved a lifetime collection of Rs 1,148.32 crore gross worldwide.
Meanwhile, Prabhas-starrer Salaar: Part 1 — Ceasefire, which released a day after Dunki, has entered the Rs 400 crore nett club in India at the end of its third week in theatres. Globally, the Prashanth Neel-helmed actioner has minted Rs 705 crore gross till Day 20.
