Working with Dunki director Rajkumar Hirani is a “dream come true” for Shah Rukh Khan, the Bollywood star said on Twitter in reply to a question asked by a fan on Tuesday.
“Raju Sir is a dream come true to work with,” the 57-year-old actor, all set for his upcoming film with the 3 Idiots director, wrote on the microblogging site.
“Learnt so much from him and his film making. I am truly fortunate and he is too much fun,” Shah Rukh added.
Dunki marks the first collaboration between Shah Rukh and Hirani. The teaser of the film shows a dreamy-eyed Shah Rukh hoping for a Hirani script to come his way. When the filmmaker agrees for a film with the actor, the former reveals the title, making Shah Rukh curious. The film is touted as a comedy drama about illegal immigration by Indians.
Dunki is based on the use of the Donkey Flight, an illegal backdoor route, to illegally immigrate to countries like Canada and USA. Produced by Gauri Khan, the upcoming film also stars Taapsee Pannu in a pivotal role alongside Shah Rukh. The comedy drama is set for a December 22 release this year.
Shah Rukh will also be seen in Atlee’s Jawan before the release of Dunki. The action thriller —also starring Vijay Sethupathi, Deepika Padukone and Nayanthara— is set for a June 2023 release.
