Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan will be present in his Pathaan avatar during the pre-match show of the FIFA World Cup final 2022 between France and Argentina on December 18.

Shah Rukh took to Instagram to share a short promo of the event with the caption “Mbappe… studio mein @WayneRooney aur main… #Pathaan! 18 Dec ki shaam hogi shaandaar! Dekhiye #FIFAWorldCup Final mere saath,”

In the short video, the actor is seen uttering the now-famous dialogue — Apni kursi ki peti bandha lo, mausam bigadne wala hai — from the Pathaan teaser as he promises to watch the final with former England and Manchester United footballer Wayne Rooney, who also utters the same dialogue in Hindi at the end.

This is not the first time Shah Rukh Khan will be promoting his film at a mega sporting event. In 2013, he promoted Chennai Express at the Indian Premier League’s pre-match show.

Pathan marks Khan’s comeback to the silver screen after a gap of more than four years. Directed by Siddharth Anand and bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, Pathaan is the fourth instalment of the Yash Raj Films’s spy universe. It also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in prominent roles.

Shah Rukh Khan will be playing a field agent in the film. The already-released teaser promises bike chases, acrobatic stunts and combat sequences. Khan’s ripped physique is one of the highlights of the film where Abraham plays the main antagonist.

A glimpse of a dance number titled Besharam Rang featuring Shah Rukh and Deepika was released by the makers recently.

Pathan is scheduled to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023.
