The film festival will be held from August 7 to August 17 in Switzerland’s Locarno.

In the past years, Malaysian filmmaker Tsai Ming-liang (2023), Greek-French film director and screenwriter Costa Gavras (2022), Italian cinematographer Dante Spinotti (2021) and Swiss filmmaker Fredi M. Murer (2020) have been honoured with the Pardo alla Carriera.

Founded in 1946, the Locarno Film Festival showcases films across various competitive and non-competitive sections, encompassing feature-length narratives, documentaries, shorts, avant-garde works and retrospectives.

On the work front, Shah Rukh headlined three films last year, including the record-breaking hits Jawan and Pathaan. Dunki, starring Taapsee Pannu, Vicky Kaushal and Boman Irani alongside Shah Rukh, released on December 21.

Both Jawan and Dunki were produced under Shah Rukh’s home banner Red Chillies Entertainment.

The 58-year-old Bollywood star’s upcoming movie, reportedly titled King, is expected to feature him alongside his daughter Suhana Khan. However, an official announcement regarding King is still awaited.
