It has been “difficult” for Shah Rukh Khan to do romance on screen as he is a shy person by nature, the actor admitted during an Ask SRK session with fans on microblogging platform Twitter (now X) on Thursday.

“Comedy is always difficult…then romance I think at least for me because I am very shy,” the 57-year-old, known for his iconic romantic hero roles, said in response to a fan’s question.

During the session, Shah Rukh answered several questions related to his upcoming action entertainer Jawan and outwitted trolls with ease.

The actor revealed that the yet-to-be-released romantic number Chaleya from Jawan is his personal favourite from the upcoming movie, giving a shoutout to music composer Anirudh Ravichander.

“My favourite song is Chaleya from the film. Romantic and sweet and gentle….just like me. @anirudhofficial has excelled,” he wrote.

Besides action, fans can also expect a lot of “emotional drama” from the upcoming Atlee directorial, Shah Rukh said in one of his tweets.

The film, he said, has a strong take on women empowerment and how to respect and stand for them, which viewers can takeaway from it.

Outwitting trolls, the actor had a befitting reply for a Twitter use who tried to age-shame him.

To a fan who said his wife is not willing to watch Jawan because she thinks he is a better-looking Jawan than Shah Rukh, the actor said, “Theek hai bhai tum ussi ki sun lo. Kisi aur se picture ki kahani sun lena….puchna agli dekhengi kya…uska naam Dunki hai….ya phir tum Dunki bhi lagte ho??! #Jawan (Okay brother you listen to her now. Make sure to know the plot from someone else... ask whether she will watch the next one, the name of which is Dunki... or are you also Dunki to her?)”

Shah Rukh said that he is looking forward to watching Rajinikanth’s Jailer and revealed that the actor visited the sets of Jawan to bless the team. “ Of course I love Rajni sir….Maassss!! He had come on Jawan set and blessed us too.”

Directed by Atlee, the film also stars Nayanthara, Vijay Sethupathi, Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani and Riddhi Dogra. Shah Rukh’s Pathaan co-star Deepika Padukone will play a cameo in the film.

Jawan will release worldwide in theatres on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages.
