Shah Rukh Khan has reviewed Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway and heaped praises on the film’s lead actress Rani Mukherji for her portrayal of a mother who takes on the state to get custody of her child.
Taking to Twitter yesterday, Shah Rukh said “My Rani shines…” and commented on her stunning performance in the film. Shah Rukh and Rani are longtime friends and have been co-actors in films like Chalte Chalte and Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna.
"What a tremendous effort by the whole team of Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway. My Rani shines in the central role as only a Queen can. Director Ashima, shows a human struggle with such sensitivity. Jim, @AnirbanSpeaketh, #Namit, #SaumyaMukherjee, #BalajiGauri all shine. A must watch," the Pathaan star wrote.
Other celebrities including Kajol, Neha Dhupia, Arjun Kapoor and Kiara Advani also took to social media to share their reviews as well.
Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway, released on March 17, also stars Anirban Bhattacharya, Jim Sarbh and Neena Gupta in pivotal roles. Rani plays the central role of Mrs Chatterjee, who takes on the Norwegian foster care system and legal machinery to win back custody of her kids.
The family legal drama is based on the real story of Sagarika Chakraborty whose children were taken away from her by the Norwegian child welfare services. The story has been adapted from Sagarika’s autobiography titled The Journey of a Mother.
