Singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran recreated Shah Rukh Khan’s signature arms-stretched-out pose during his meeting with the latter and filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan Kunder in Mumbai on Wednesday, shows a video he shared on social media.
“This is the Shape of Us. Spreading love together…” Sheeran captioned the video of him and Shah Rukh, with a reference to his 2017 hit song Shape of You. The song Deewangi Deewangi from Shah Rukh and Farah’s 2007 film Om Shanti Om played in the background.
In the video, Shah Rukh sports a newspaper-print shirt paired with ripped jeans, while Sheeran wore a tie-dye full-sleeve t-shirt and black trousers.
Soon after the post was shared, director Farah Khan Kunder commented, “If this was the last thing I directed I'll die happy 😁♥️.”
Farah, who was reportedly the host for Sheeran and Shah Rukh at her house, shared the video with a group picture of the three at the end. “When u get to direct Ed sheeran & Shahrukh khan u get? …. #SherKhan of course 😂,” the 59-year-old choreographer-turned-director wrote alongside the video.
Farah also shared a picture with Sheeran where the two of them can be seen chilling on a couch. “Relax mode with the loveliest guy ever.. @teddysphotos ♥️,” the Happy New Year director captioned her post.
Shah Rukh’s wife Gauri Khan also posed with Sheeran at the get-together. The producer-fashion designer shared pictures with Sheeran, who performed his 2014 song Thinking Out Loud for all the guests present.
“What a pleasure listening to you sing @teddysphotos !!! Thank u for spending the evening with us… 😀(by the way, loving the @dyavol.x jacket on you),” Gauri wrote alongside pictures with the Shape of You singer, who sported a denim jacket from her son Aryan Khan’s luxury streetwear brand D’yavol.
After meeting Shah Rukh and Farah, Sheeran also connected with singer-composer Darshan Raval. Darshan had previously sung a cover of Sheeran’s 2015 song Photograph crossed with his 2017 song Ye Baarish.
“We will wait for you to sing in Hindi soon. Nice meeting you @teddysphotos,” reads a translation of the caption alongside a picture of Darshan and Sheeran.
Sheeran is set to perform in Mumbai’s Mahalaxmi Race Course on March 16 as part of his ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’, also called The Mathematics Tour.
The ongoing ‘+ - = ÷ x Tour’ is Sheeran’s fourth tour. Spanning across three continents with 89 shows, the tour started on April 23, 2022 in Dublin, Ireland, and is scheduled to end on September 8 in Larnaca, Cyprus.
