The makers of Shah Rukh Khan’s much-anticipated film Pathaan will release songs from the upcoming action thriller before dropping its theatrical trailer, the film’s director Siddharth Anand said in a statement on Monday.

“We will release the songs of the film before the theatrical trailer,” said Anand, adding that the makers want to keep building the intrigue for the plot of Pathaan, set to release in theatres on January 25 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

The songs are set to be released in December while the official trailer will come a little later, said Anand.

“Pathaan has two spectacular songs. And fortunately, both are so incredible that they are potential chartbuster anthems of the year. Hence, we decided to give people ample time to enjoy the songs before the film releases,” he further said.

Starring Shah Rukh, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham in important roles, the action film is part of Aditya Chopra’s ambitious spy universe. Shah Rukh’s four-year-long hiatus will come to an end with the release of Pathaan.

“Since December is a party and holiday season for people across the world, we will release the songs of the film during that time. This is also part of our strategy to hold back the plot of Pathaan to as close to the release as possible. So get ready to dance to the music of Pathaan,” said Anand.
