Actor Shah Rukh Khan has started the ‘Jhoome Jo Rinku’ trend on Twitter following Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) player Rinku Singh’s five back-to-back sixes that took the IPL team to victory in the last over against Gujarat Titans on Sunday.
The Pathaan star posted a modified poster of the film with his face swapped with Rinku’s. “JHOOME JO RINKUUUUU !!! My baby @rinkusingh235 And @NitishRana_27 & @venkateshiyer you beauties!!! And remember Believe that’s all. Congratulations @KKRiders and @VenkyMysore take care of your heart sir” he wrote.
Until the last over of the match, Gujarat Titans were the favourites to win it, especially after Rashid Khan took a brilliant hat-trick in the 17th over to dismiss three of KKR’s power-hitters — Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Shardul Thakur. But Rinku single handedly took the match away from GT with his power hitting.
The Aligarh-born cricketer reacted to Shah Rukh’s post and wrote, “Shah Rukh sir yaaar 🥹♥️ Love you sir & thank you for your constant support 🙏🏻”
The official Twitter handle of Kolkata Knight Rider also posted an edited clip of the song from Pathaan in which Deepika Padukone can be seen dancing with Rinku as his face is placed on Shah Rukh’s body. The caption reads, “. @iamsrk 's #JhoomeJoRinku tweet got us thinking! What if...? 🤔”
This was KKR’s second win of the season in three games after registering its opening win earlier this week in Kolkata, where Shah Rukh Khan was in attendance.
