Shah Rukh Khan turned 59 this Saturday. While we all saw the actor do his customary birthday meet-and-greet with the fans gathered outside his home from Mannat’s balcony, it was his Gauri who gave us a glimpse of his actual birthday celebration — with his wife and daughter in Mumbai.

Gauri took to Instagram to share a glimpse of the ‘memorable’ evening. “A memorable evening last night with friends and family… happy birthday @iamsrk,” reads the caption to her post on the social media platform.

The photo shows Shah Rukh, dressed in all-black, cutting a simple chocolate cake as Gauri and Suhana, shimmering in silver and gold, clap and sing for him. The carousel also contains a throwback candid photo of Gauri and Shah Rukh.

The Dunki actor also took to Instagram to express gratitude to his fans who had gathered outside his Mumbai residence. “Thank you for coming over and making my evening special… my love to everyone who made it for my birthday. And for those who couldn’t, sending you all my love,” he wrote, alongside a picture of himself striking his iconic arms-stretched-out pose.

Several videos shared by fan accounts also show Shah Rukh cutting a different “king size” birthday cake at another event. Shah Rukh’s manager and birthday twin, Pooja Dadlani, was also present at what seemed to be an SRK Day celebration.

On the work front, Shah Rukh will soon be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s upcoming film King, which will see him team up with daughter Suhana for the first time. King will reportedly star Abhishek Bachchan as the antagonist.
