Jhoome Jo Pathaan, the title track of Shah Rukh Khan’s 2023 blockbuster Pathaan, has garnered over one billion views on YouTube.
The peppy dance number is composed by Vishal and Shekhar and sung by Arijit Singh, Sukriti and Kumaar.
With the latest milestone, Jhoome Jo Pathaan joins the league of songs like Bum Bum Bole from Taare Zameen Par (1.1 billion views) and Tujh Mein Rab Dikhta Hai from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (1.1 billion views).
Jhoome Jo Pathaan was released on December 22, 2022, and had taken the nation by storm by garnering over one million views on YouTube within just 31 minutes.
Shah Rukh himself released the song on Twitter. “Tumne mohabbat karni hai….humne mohabbat ki hai….Iss dil ke ‘alava kisi se bhi, na humne ijaazat li hai!!! Let’s jhoomo,” the Bollywood superstar had written back then.
Directed by Siddharth Anand, Pathaan marked Shah Rukh’s return to the big screen after a four-year break. The action thriller is part of Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe, which also includes blockbusters like War (2019) and the Tiger franchise.
Pathaan follows the story of its titular character, played by Shah Rukh Khan, a former R&AW agent who is called back into action to counter a deadly threat. The antagonist, Jim (John Abraham), is a rogue ex-spy with a vendetta against India, leading a terrorist organisation called Outfit X. Pathaan teams up with ISI agent Rubina (Deepika Padukone) to prevent a global catastrophe.
Pathaan became a monumental success at the box office, minting Rs 543 crore nett in India and Rs 1,050 crore gross globally, the first Hindi film to do so after the pandemic-induced slump.
