Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan joined the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign with wife Gauri and sons Aryan and AbRam. He shared a video of his family celebrating Independence Day, with his youngest son, AbRam, hoisting the Tricolour. The Swades actor, who has been away from the silver screen for over four years, has three releases scheduled for 2023 – Pathaan, directed by Siddharth Anand, Jawaan directed by Atlee, and Dunki, directed by Rajkumar Hirani.

Farhan Akhtar

Farhan Akhtar’s Instagram post for Independence Day was a poetic tribute that captured the essence of independent India. The Rock On actor shared an ad film – to which he had lent his voice as the narrator – that traced some significant moments of modern India.

Mimi Chakraborty

Tollywood actress and Lok Sabha member Mimi Chakraborty shared a reel on her Instagram, outlining what ‘freedom in its truest sense’ meant to her. Mimi is all set to make her Bollywood debut with the Hindi adaptation of Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy’s Posto, titled Shastry Virudh Shastry.

Sidharth Malhotra

Sidharth Malhotra and Kiara Advani’s Shershaah recently celebrated its first anniversary. Sidharth, who plays a soldier in the film, looked handsome as ever in a white kurta as he held the Indian flag with A.R. Rahman’s Maa Tujhe Salaam playing in the background. Kiara also shared a video of herself with the Tricolour on which Sidharth commented, ‘thanks for cutting me out’.

Anil Kapoor

Anil Kapoor shared a post of him running with the Indian flag in hand, and fans showered him with praise for his fitness and stamina.

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan shared a video of him performing the national anthem in sign language with specially-abled children. The veteran actor will soon be seen in the role of Guru Arvind in the Ayan Mukherji-directed Brahmastra.

Preity Zinta

Preity Zinta celebrated the day with her twins, Jai and Gia, with the Tricolour in hand. “Happy Independence Day to my fellow Indians all over the world from the three of us,” she wrote in the Instagram post.

The actress also shared a video of Axel, the Indian army assault dog who recently passed away in a counter-terrorist operation. Preity urged her fans to acknowledge the bravery of dogs who lay down their lives in order to protect us.

Ayushmann Khurrana

The Anek actor shared a video where he is seen spending a day with BSF jawans in Jammu. The actor matched Bhangra steps with the jawans and played cricket too. Ayuhsmann’s next venture, Doctor G, directed by Anubhuti Kashyap, was set to release in June 2022 but has been postponed.

Vir Das

Actor-comedian Vir Das took to Instagram to share a note that expressed what freedom and independence meant to him. Last year, Vir’s comedy skit ‘I Come from Two Indias’ had left netizens divided on how they felt about his take on India and its socio-political issues.

Vijay Deverakonda

The Liger actor, who has been making headlines with his film promotions, shared a video of him spending time with the Indian Coast Guards. A beautiful instrumental rendition of the national anthem plays in the background.

Shantanu Maheshwari

Gangubai Kathiawadi actor Shantanu Maheshwari took the opportunity to pay a tribute to the 2022 Commonwealth Games winners from India. Highlighting the medals won and the sports played with immense dedication, Shantanu, who’s known for his versatile dance moves, along with Nach Baliye 9 co-star Sourabh Raaj Jain paid a homage to the achievers who brought glory to the nation.
