Singer Shaan has shared that his duet song with Shreya Ghoshal, titled Durr Kahi Durr, does not feature in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Dunki, which hit theatres on Thursday.
Taking to X on Thursday, Shaan began a long note by showing his excitement for Dunki’s release and then mentioned that the song was clipped off at the “edit table” by Rajkumar Hirani.
Even though fans will not get to see the Shaan-Shah Rukh combo in Dunki, the singer revealed that Durr Kahi Durr was a “breezy duet” that was picturised in Kashmir.
Shaan also mentioned that he took to social media to “clear the air” on why his song would not be featured in Dunki. He, however, did not show any ill-feelings towards the director and mentioned that the song could feature in one of the director’s future projects.
“He (Hirani) was very transparent about it with me.. and I really appreciate that.. and I fully understand that the Film is top priority,” he wrote in the note.
The anticipation of a song by Shaan featuring in Dunki was created earlier this year when he tweeted about it. “I’m so super excited about this LoveSong for SRK.. and have always had #RajuHirani Ji’s love and support,” he had written on May 19, dismissing rumours that Shantanu Moitra was the composer of the song and clarifying that the song was composed by Pritam.
With Durr Kahi Durr not being a part of the promotional drops ahead of Dunki’s release, Shaan’s post offers clarity on why the song would not feature in the film.
