Apart from Abhishek, the film also features Mokshda Jailkhani and Shruthy Menon.
Speaking about the film, Abhishek Banerjee said, “I did the film because whenever Keith will call me for anything, I will be there. He is one of the pillars of my career in Mumbai! He is the one who gave me my first job as a casting director. But having said that I also feel that even though Keith has been an associate director on many commercial films, his sensibilities are completely original and quirky. I feel that the movie is quite an original take on social media madness.”
The actor also shared the trailer on Instagram with the caption on Wednesday. “‘Jo dikhta hai woh bikta hai’ – but at what cost? Bringing to the world a thought-provoking tale that'll make you question the power of a single,” he wrote.
Sex, Likes & Stories had been entirely shot on iPhone and also features Mokshda Jailkhani and Shruthy Menon in lead roles. The ambitious short film explores the dark side of social media in the quirkiest ways.
Speaking about the offbeat choice of topic, Keith Gomes said Sex, Likes & Stories was a rollercoaster ride through the twisted depths of social media, blending dark humour and gripping storytelling. “Brace yourself for a wild journey that will make you question everything you thought you knew about the virtual world we live in. Get ready to embark on an unconventional ride that exposes the underbelly of social media with a dash of quirkiness and a whole lot of surprises!” he added.
Sex, Life & Stories is produced by Emmy-nominated Girish ‘Bobby’ Talwar. The film will be released on Keith Gomes’s YouTube channel on May 25.
