The 76th Primetime Emmy Awards in Downtown Los Angeles doubled as a fashion parade on September 15, with Selena Gomez, Jessica Gunning and Reese Witherspoon stealing the spotlight in stunning black ensembles. Here’s a look at who wore what to the awards ceremony.
Selena Gomez turned heads in a black Ralph Lauren silk-and-velvet gown featuring an embellished halter neck and a floor-sweeping train. She was nominated for best actress in a comedy series for her portrayal of Mabel Mora in the Hulu series Only Murders in the Building.
Jennifer Aniston, nominated for her role as Alex Levy in the drama series The Morning Show, dazzled in an Oscar de la Renta champagne column gown. The 55-year-old actress wore her hair down and opted for minimal accessories and subtle makeup to balance her look.
Aniston’s The Morning Show co-star Reese Witherspoon was also nominated for outstanding lead actress in a drama series. She stunned in a strapless black pleated gown. Intricate beige floral designs adorning her all-black ensemble created a striking contrast.
Actress Meryl Streep, who earned her sixth Emmy nomination for her role as Loretta Dunkin in Season 3 of Only Murders in the Building, walked the red carpet in a pink pantsuit.
Shogun star Anna Sawai became the first actress of Asian descent to bag a trophy for lead actress in a drama series at the Emmys. Sawai looked gorgeous in a red off-shoulder gown.
The Netflix limited series Baby Reindeer took home six trophies with Jessica Gunning winning her first Emmy for supporting actress in a limited or anthology series. Gunning’s co-star and show creator Richard Gadd secured awards for acting in, writing and executive producing the show. While Gunning turned heads in a black gown adorned with 3D blue floral motifs around the neckline, Gadd sported a chequered tartan kilt, paired with a black blazer, white shirt, black bowtie, knee-length stockings and matching moccasins.
Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan and Baby Reindeer’s Nava Mau shined as presenters during the ceremony. Coughlan looked gorgeous in a metallic corset-fit ensemble, while Nava Mau turned heads in a red slit gown with a plunging neckline.
The Bear star Jeremy Allen White looked dapper in a black tuxedo as he accepted the Emmy for lead actor in a comedy series.
Hosts Eugene and Dan Levy shared a moment of mirth with their former Schitt's Creek co-stars Catherine O'Hara and Annie Murphy during a mini onstage reunion. While the father-son duo looked dashing in black suits, O'Hara turned heads in an ivory see-through gown that shimmered under the lights. Murphy looked ethereal in a sequined black co-ord set.
