Samuel L. Jackson’s super spy Nick Fury is back from solitude for his “one last fight” — this time against shape-shifting aliens who have invaded the earth — in the official trailer of Marvel Studios’ upcoming miniseries Secret Invasion, dropped on Monday.

Created by Kyle Bradstreet, Secret Invasion is based on the 2008 Marvel Comics event of the same name by Brian Michael Bendis Leinil Francis Yu. The series focuses on shape-shifting aliens Skrulls who invade earth by secretly letting their agents shape-shift into those who hold powerful positions and eventually replace them. Skrulls were first introduced to the MCU in Captain Marvel (2019).

The two-minute-long trailer begins with the introduction of Nick Fury, who was believed to be living a solitary life after retirement. We see Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) describing the impending threat to Fury. Olivia Coleman’s character is then introduced. She calls Fury an old friend before reminding him that he is not in great shape for the upcoming battle. Fury tells her that this time it is personal and he’s ready.

The trailer then reintroduces us to some familiar faces while also outlining the lack of superhero involvement in the series, especially Fury’s Avengers. We see a group of spies, led by Fury, taking on a battle that will be fought in the shadows. The clip ends with Fury saying “one last fight”.

The series will see the return of Marvel characters Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders), Rhodey aka War Machine (Don Cheadle) and Everett K. Ross (Martin Freeman). It will also introduce new characters to the MCU including Game of Thrones actress Emilia Clarke, Academy Award-winner Olivia Colman and One Night in Miami… actor Kingsley Ben-Adir.

Secret Invasion will arrive on Disney+ on June 21.
