The screenplay of Joram has found its way into the Permanent Core Collection of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences Library, confirmed the lead actor of the film, Manoj Bajpayee, on Friday.
“Here's another page-turning triumph for #Joram! The screenplay becomes a cherished chapter in the core collection of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences library,” the actor proudly announced alongside a poster of the film.
The Devashish Makhija-helmed survival thriller delves into the complexities of survival amidst oppressive societal structures and reflects on the true cost of development. It showcases Manoj in a compelling lead role, navigating the challenges posed by a system that threatens the safety of his child.
Apart from Manoj, Joram features an ensemble cast including Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Smita Tambe and Tannishtha Chatterjee. The film had a limited theatrical release on December 8.
The Academy's Permanent Core Collection, aimed at fostering research and providing valuable resources for students, filmmakers, writers, actors and cinema enthusiasts, boasts a rich repository of scripts from over 11,000 produced films spanning the years 1910 to the present.
Last year, Nandita Das-helmed Zwigato had earned a spot in the Academy library.
