Sayantan Ghosal’s film Rabindra Kabya Rahasya, starring Ritwick Chakraborty, Srabanti, Priyanshu Chatterjee and Rwitobroto Mukherjee, is an official selection at the Indian Panorama of the 54th International Film Festival of India (IFFI). It has also been nominated for ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal. “Creating this film has been an exhilarating journey of unraveling mysteries and exploring the intricate threads of human emotions and ambitions. Our story delves into the past, bridging time to reveal the hidden facets of a talented poet, Eklavya Sen, and his enigmatic legacy,” says Sayantan.
Rabindra Kabya Rahasya tells the story of the poet Ekalavya Sen who fell victim to deception by his peers, who shamelessly plagiarised his poetic works. Seeking retribution, Ekalavya orchestrated their demise. In the present day, the poet and enigma unraveller, Abhik Bose, receives an enigmatic missive penned by Ekalavya Sen a century ago. In the letter, Ekalavya asserts ownership of two prized artifacts belonging to Rabindranath Tagore, which he discreetly concealed in London. As an ardent Tagore scholar, Abhik undertakes a journey to London, unraveling a series of slayings targeting eminent Tagore researchers. These crimes unveil a sinister network.
During his quest, Abhik crosses paths with Hiya Sen, a Rabindra Sangeet vocalist, and together, they embark on an intricate mission. Their investigation reveals that the murders are intricately connected to pivotal moments in Tagore’s life. The resolution leads them to a pivotal video recording and an unpublished manuscript authored by Tagore.
