Kajal Aggarwal’s eponymous cop took a personal interest in unravelling the dark secrets of a murder case even after her seniors urge her to move on from the unsolved crime in the trailer of Suman Chikkala’s investigative thriller Satyabhama, dropped by record label Aditya Music on Friday.
The two-minute-38-second-long trailer opens with Kajal’s ACP Satyabhama chasing a criminal and firing several shots in a dark forest at night. Subsequent scenes show her being reprimanded by her seniors, who take her off the case.
After her suspension, Satyabhama attends a funeral and resolves to unravel the crime's dark secrets. “Satya, you cannot get stuck onto an unsolved case. Neither does time stop, nor does crime,” says her senior officer, played by Prakash Raj, but Satyabhama insists that she can only move on only after solving the case.
The trailer also features Naveen Chandra and introduces a character named Iqbal, who is like a brother to Satyabhama. When Iqbal goes missing, Satyabhama devises a strategy to track down the criminals. The trailer showcases her performing high-octane action sequences and delivering powerful punches. The video ends with a chilling scene of a man mutilating a girl’s wrist with tattoo needles.
The official synopsis of Satyabhama on IMDb reads, “ACP Satyabhama investigates a missing person case, uncovering dark secrets across shadowy towns. Her past haunts her as she races to find the truth and redemption amidst the high-stakes investigation.”
Also starring Nagineedu, Harsha Vardhan, Ravi Varma, Ankith Koyya and Rohit Satyan, Satyabhama is presented by Sashi Kiran Tikka. The music for the film has been composed by Sricharan Pakala.
The crime thriller produced by Bobby Tikka and Srinivas Rao Takkalapelly is slated to hit the theatres on June 7.
