Actress Sanya Malhotra, who recently spoke about her admiration for Sunidhi Chauhan’s songs, has collaborated with the singer on her latest music video Aakh, dropped by Warner Music India on December 6.

Choreographed by director-choreographer duo Piyush Bhagat and Shazia Samji, the three-minute-seven-second-long video shows Sanya and Sunidhi setting the dance floor ablaze with their electrifying steps in coordinated outfits.

One of the sequences captures them dancing in the rain, while in another they groove on a sand-filled landscape in striking black outfits. Dressed in neon green blouses and skirts, they shake a leg in a smoky setting. Sanya and Sunidhi also perform steps on a bed, which appears suspended within an active volcano.

The song has been composed by Prateeksha Srivastava, Aman Khare and Paurush Kumar, with lyrics by Prateeksha Srivastava.

In addition to Sunidhi, Rusha and Blizza have also lent their voice to the track.

In a previous post on social media, Sanya reminisced about dancing to Sunidhi’s chartbusters like Sheila Ki Jawani (2010) as a fan girl. “@sunidhichauhan5. From dancing to her songs to finally dancing with her—can’t wait,” she captioned her video on Instagram, teasing Aakh’s release.

Sunidhi recently collaborated with Shreya Ghoshal on the song Chhaila, released on October 14. The song, composed by Salim-Sulaiman, features Shreya rapping for the first time. Chhaila is part of Salim-Sulaiman’s independent music effort, Bhoomi 2024, and is penned by Shraddha Pandit. Other recent releases of Sunidhi include Maahroo, Leta Jaijo Re and Sakhee Shagun.

Sanya was last seen in Mrs., a remake of The Great Indian Kitchen (2021). The film was screened at the 24th New York Indian Film Festival (NYIFF) on June 2, 2024. It also featured at the 55th International Film Festival of India in Goa last month.
