Actor Sanjoy Dutt hoped that a third instalment of Munna Bhai M.B.B.S. is made soon, recalling moments from his 2003 blockbuster in an emotional note on the 20th anniversary of the Rajkumar Hirani-directed film on Tuesday.
Sharing a reel featuring a montage of scenes from the film on Instagram, the 64-year-old wrote, “Two decades of laughter, emotions, and a whole lot of jadoo ki jhappi! Celebrating 20 years of Munna Bhai MBBS, a journey filled with unforgettable moments.” “Hoping that Munna Bhai 3 will be made soon,” he added, eliciting enthusiastic responses from fans.
The video also features the late Sunil Dutt, Arshard Warsi, Rohini Hattangadi and Gracy Singh who played important roles in the film.
“Munna bhai 3 pakka incredible hogi (Munna bhai 3 will definitely be incredible)," commented a fan. Celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani wrote, “Beautiful. Truly timeless.”
Actor Arshad Warsi, who played Munna Bhai’s loyal friend Circuit, shared a picture with Sanjay Dutt to commemorate the film’s 20th anniversary. The photograph portrays them in their respective characters from the film.
“20 years, wow, seems like yesterday. I thank you all for loving Munna & Circuit so much,” read Arshad’s caption on Instagram.
Munna Bhai M.B.B.S, produced under the banner of Vinod Chopra Films, marked Rajkumar Hirani’s directorial debut. Released on December 19, 2023, the film revolves around a Mumbai Gangster’s (Munna Bhai) sincere efforts to please his father. A sequel to the film, Lage Raho Munna Bhai, was released on September 1, 2006.
