Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu called remarriage a “bad investment”, citing India’s divorce statistics in response to a fan’s question about her remarriage plans during an Ask Me Anything session on Instagram on Sunday.
“Would be a bad investment according to statistics,” the 36-year-old wrote on her Instagram story, sharing a screenshot of data showing that the divorce rates for second and third marriages were higher than the divorce rate for first marriages in India.
Samantha was married to actor Naga Chaitanya for four years. The couple began dating in 2010 after meeting each other on the sets of Gautham Vasudev Menon-directed romantic drama film Ye Maaya Chesave. They exchanged vows in October 2017. However, their marriage ended because of unstated reasons in 2021.
On the work front, Samantha is all set to star in a bilingual film, Chennai Stories, which is likely to mark her Hollywood debut. In the Indian version of the spy web-series Citadel, slated to premiere on Amazon Prime Video in 2024, the actress will star alongside Varun Dhawan.
