Salman Khan-starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan collected Rs 92.66 crore nett at the domestic box office in its first week in theatres, lagging behind Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan by a huge margin and losing to Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar by a whisker, box office figures highlighted on Friday.
According to box office records, Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar earned Rs 92.84 crore nett at the end of its first week, while Pathaan emerged as the highest first-week grosser of 2023 with a collection of Rs 378.15 crore nett.
The box office collection of KKBKKJ further dropped to Rs 3.6 crore nett on its Day 7 in theatres, keeping its total Week 1 collection within the Rs 100-crore mark.
The Farhan Samji-directed action drama opened with Rs 15.81 crore nett at the domestic box office on April 21. The collections witnessed a jump on Saturday (Rs 25.56 crore nett), followed by a marginal increase on Sunday (Rs 26.61 crore nett).
However, the film’s earnings dropped significantly on Monday (Rs 10.17 crore nett). Fortunes of the action drama further sank during the weekdays, with a collection of Rs 6.12 crore nett on Tuesday and Rs 4.6 crore nett on Wednesday.
KKBKKJ has emerged as the 13th highest-grossing film in Salman’s career in terms of earnings in the first week. Sultan (Rs 208.82 crore nett), Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 206.04 crore nett), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 184.62 crore nett), Bharat (Rs 167.6 crore nett), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 165.45 crore nett), Kick (Rs 164.21 crore nett), Race 3 (Rs 144.5 crore nett), Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 137.15 crore nett), Dabangg 3 (Rs 126.55 crore nett), Bodyguard (Rs 115 crore nett), Tubelight (Rs 106.86 crore nett) and Dabangg 2 (Rs 106.6 crore nett) performed better in their first week at the box office.
Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan also stars Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Siddharth Nigam, Raghav Juyal, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Jagapathi Babu.
