Salman Khan’s Eid release Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan emerged as the third-highest opening weekend grosser of 2023, collecting Rs 69 crore nett over its first extended weekend in theatres, box office figures highlighted on Monday.
The Farhad Samji directorial raked in Rs 25.56 crore nett on Saturday and Rs 27 crore nett on Sunday after collecting Rs 15.81 crore on Friday, according to Box Office India. The action drama, however, fell short of the first weekend collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s blockbuster Pathaan (Rs 280.75 crore nett) and Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor’s romcom Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (Rs 70.64 crore nett).
With a Day 1 collection of Rs 15.81 crore on April 21, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan became the second-highest opener of 2023 after Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan (Rs 57 crore), beating Ranbir Kapoor’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (Rs 15.73 crore) by a whisker.
KKBKKJ is also Salman’s tenth-highest opening weekend grosser. His top nine films with the highest opening weekend collection are Sultan (Rs 180 crore nett), Bharat (Rs 150 crore nett), Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (Rs 130 crore nett), Tiger Zinda Hai (Rs 115 crore nett), Race 3 (Rs 103 crore nett), Bajrangi Bhaijaan (Rs 102 crore nett), Ek Tha Tiger (Rs 100 crore nett), Bodyguard (Rs 88 crore nett) and Kick (Rs 83 crore nett).
Also starring Pooja Hegde, Venkatesh, Bhumika Chawla, Jagapathi Babu, Vijender Singh, Raghav Juyal, Siddharth Nigam, Jassie Gill, Shehnaaz Gill, Palak Tiwari and Vinali Bhatnagar, KKBKKJ revolves around Bhaijaan (Salman) who leads a peaceful life with his brothers but occasionally resorts to violence to tackle goons.
