Actors Sathyaraj and Prateik Babbar have joined the cast of Salman Khan’s upcoming film Sikandar, slated to release on Eid next year, production house Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment Movies announced on Thursday.
“We're elated to welcome you on board #Sathyaraj sir! Honoured to have you in team #Sikandar. Happy to collaborate with our very own @prateikbabbar once again! And we can't wait for everyone to experience this cinematic excellence on the big screens,” the makers wrote on X alongside pictures featuring the two actors and Warda S Nadiadwala.
Sathyaraj is known for his playing the role of Kattappa in the Baahubali film series and the social reformer Periyar E. V. Ramasamy in the biographical film Periyar. He recently featured in Aditya Sarpotdar’s horror-comedy Munjya alongside Sharvari Wagh and Abhay Verma.
Prateik Babbar, son of Raj babbar and Smita Patil, is known for his roles in films like Ekk Deewana Tha, Jaane Tu…Ya Jaane Na and Chhichhore.
Helmed by AR Murugadoss, Sikandar is produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. Salman has collaborated with Nadiadwala on several films, including Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Judwaa (1997) and Kick (2014).
Salman had announced the release date of Sikandar on Eid this year. “Iss Eid ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’ aur ‘Maidaan’ ko dekho aur agli Eid Sikandar se aa kar milo…. Wish u all Eid Mubarak (Watch Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan this Eid and Sikandar on next Eid, Wish you all Eid Mubarak),” the Tiger 3 actor had written on Instagram.
Salman was last seen in Tiger 3 alongside Katrina Kaif. Last year, he had also appeared in the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer Pathaan in a cameo role and Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan featuring Pooja Hegde.
