Salman Khan flaunted his six-pack abs at the trailer launch of his upcoming film Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan on Monday, silencing trolls who accused the actor of using VFX to look ripped on screen.

Tumhare ko lagta hai VFX se hota hain (You think this happens with the help of VFX,” the actor said while unbuttoning his shirt at the Mumbai event.

Later, during a question-and-answer round, the 57-year-old jokingly said that his washboard abs were a result of Covid-19 and dengue.

“This was dengue and Covid’s effort. If you want to have a good body, you must get Covid or dengue before the climax,” the actor, who suffered from dengue in October 2022, said.

Salman returns as the buttheading, bone-breaking action hero in the Farhad Samji directorial, which features an ensemble cast of Pooja Hegde, Bhumika Chawla, Venkatesh Daggubati, Raghav Juyal, Shehnaaz and Siddharth Nigam. The film is slated for an April 21 release.

Talking at the trailer launch, Bhumika reminisced about her early days on set with Salman during Tere Naam shoot in 2003. “When I worked with him, we both were young and I think you know life happens and we all grow up. It's been absolutely wonderful working with him again, I see a lot of change in him. I’m really really glad I got this opportunity to work with him again,” the 44-year-old actress said.

In his reply to Bhumika, Salman jokingly said, “We've had a great relationship in Tera Naam. We would have so much fun shooting it. She would come on the set and say, ‘Hi, how's it going, pack-up bye.’ These were the only words we have exchanged throughout the film and even here it was the same, it has been consistent nothing has changed.”

Boxer-turned-actor Vijender Singh, who plays one of the antagonists in the film, threw light on how the process of filmmaking became easier owing to Salman’s punctuality on the sets. Salman, on the other hand, joked about how he had to teach Vijender how not to hit him. “Kaise nahi marna filmo mei, ye sikhaya hai (I’ve taught him how to not hit in films),” the Tubelight actor said.

Director Farhad Samji was all praise for Salman at the event. “As a director, you’re lucky to get a superstar act for you but having Salman in your film makes you even luckier,” he said.

Salman also suggested Bigg Boss 13 star Shehnaaz Gill to move on. “I am telling you, you should move on,” Salman said, to which Shehnaaz replied, “I did.”
