Actor Prabhas appears as a sword-wielding gangster baying for blood in the Salaar teaser, dropped by K.G.F makers Hombale Films on Thursday, as he changes gear to shake off all traces of the calm and composed Raghava from his last film Adipurush.

Dropped by K.G.F makers Hombale Films on Thursday, the Salaar Part 1 – Ceasefire teaser begins with actor Tinnu Anand describing Prabhas’ character as the apex predator, with glimpses of Prabhas slaughtering goons with a sword — reminiscent of action sequences from the Yash-starrer K.G.F.

The one-minute-46-second teaser is loaded with guns, goons, intense music and one-liners about Prabhas. “In simple English, of course a lion, a tiger, or an elephant is dangerous. But they are not that dangerous when they are in Jurassic Park,” says Tinnu as Prabhas’ bloody fist appears on the screen.

The video also introduces us to Prithviraj Sukumaran as the menacing villain.

“The #SalaarCeaseFire teaser has arrived. Have you seen it yet?” wrote the Bahubaali actor, sharing the short video on Instagram.

The teaser was released at 5.12 am. Interestingly, the boat of KGF’s protagonist Rocky Bhai (Yash) drowned at that exact time, hinting at a shared universe between the two films.

Salaar is helmed by KGF helmer Prashanth Neel and marks the Telugu debut of Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film also features Shruti Haasan, Jagapati Babu, Eshwari Rao and Sriya Reddy.

The film is bankrolled by Vijay Kiragandur under Hombale Films, which also produced Kantara. Composer Ravi Basrur has again teamed up with Prashanth Neel for the film.

Salaar Part 1 - Ceasefire will arrive in theatres on September 28 in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi.
