On actor Sanjay Dutt’s 65th birthday, Bollywood veteran Saira Banu recalled an ‘adorable’ incident where a little Sanjay innocently proposed to her during a visit to her place with mother Nargis.
“I still remember when Nargis Aapa would come to our house for functions, and he would accompany her – this cute, good-looking kid...Nargis Ji would then shake his hand and say, ‘Chalo, Saira Ji ko bolo tum kya bolte ho mujhe (Tell Saira ma’am what you say to me).’ And then Sanju would look at me and say, ‘Main Saira Banu se shaadi karunga (I will marry Saira Banu).’ Hahaha, so adorable,” wrote the 79-year-old actress on her Instagram stories, sharing a photo of her late husband Dilip Kumar with Sanjay.
“I believe Sharmila Tagore and I were the top favourites of Sanju,” Saira recounted, adding how Sanjay has always been like a family to her. “Sanjay Dutt has always been like a family to me. My entire family, starting from Ammaji to Aapaji, to Sahib, and to me, we’ve watched him grow from a tiny toddler into the remarkable person that he is today,” she wrote in her caption.
The Jwaar Bhata actress sent her warm wishes, love and blessings to Sanjay on his special day. “We’ve all cherished being part of his journey. He holds a special place in my heart. With all my love and blessings, I wish him a very happy birthday,” Saira signed off.
On the work front, Sanjay has Prem’s KD - The Devil, Tarun Mansukhani’s Housefull 5 and Binnoy K Gandhi’s Ghudchadi in the pipeline. Additionally, the actor has teamed up with Ranveer Singh, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal for a new film helmed by Aditya Dhar.
