Pop singer Sabrina Carpenter will host A Nonsense Christmas, a holiday variety music special slated to stream on Netflix from December 6 at 6:30 am (IST), the streamer announced on Thursday.
“This is really gonna jingle your bells. A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter — her first-ever holiday special — features unexpected duets and comedic guests you will not want to miss! Mark your calendars for Dec 6 at 9PM ET/ 6 PM PT,” Netflix wrote on Instagram alongside a video featuring the Espresso singer.
“Expecting someone else?” Carpenter playfully says in the video that gives a glimpse of a set filled with snow and glitters. With the sound of bells in the background, the singer appears in a shimmery red bodysuit and Santa boots.
Carpenter will be performing songs from her holiday album Fruitcake and other chart-topping holiday covers in the holiday special, which will also feature other performances, comedy cameos and unexpected duets.
A Nonsense Christmas is produced by Carpenter under her banner At Last Productions in collaboration with OBB Pictures. “The holidays have always been so special to me,” Sabrina said in a statement, adding, “I am excited to bring my take to a classic holiday variety show — infusing my love of music and comedy to make something that is uniquely me.”
“Sabrina’s vision to subvert the classic holiday special has been clear since day one,” said Michael D. Ratner, executive producer and founder of OBB Media. “At OBB, we partner with the world’s most captivating artists to reimagine the expected, and we’re proud of the work by our entire team and want to highlight Simone Spira, the Volara team, Sam Wrench, Nikki Boella and all involved that brought Sabrina’s vision to life on Netflix,” he added.
Carpenter released her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet right before this announcement. The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, making it the third-biggest first week debut in 2024. She recently clinched the Song of the Year award for her hit single Espresso at this year’s MTV VMAs, marking her first win at the award ceremony.
