S.S. Rajamouli’s RRR has raised 185 million ¥ —over Rs.10 crore— in 17 days at the Japan box office with 1,22,727 footfalls registered during this period, the makers of the film have announced.
“The Rage of #RRRMovie’s Run at Japan’s Box office is unstoppable. Since the release, the film is constantly receiving lots of appreciation. We are happy to share that our film got 1,22,727 footfalls by 3rd weekend (17 days). ありがとう日本 ❤️,” their tweet read.
The Ram Charan-and-N.T.R Jr-starrer has enjoyed tremendous response all across the globe. The film grossed Rs 1,200 crore worldwide, setting several box office records for an Indian film. It became the third-highest-grossing Indian film and second highest-grossing Telugu film worldwide.
RRR is a fictitious story about two legendary revolutionaries and their fight against the British regime in the 1920s. The Telugu-language period action drama film is produced by DVVV Danayya of DVV Entertainments.
RRR released on March 25, 2022. The film has been submitted for Oscars 2023 in 14 categories, including Best Picture (DVV Danayya), Best Director (SS Rajamouli), Best Actor (Jr NTR and Ram Charan), Best Supporting Actor (Ajay Devgn) and Best Supporting Actress (Alia Bhatt).
