Filmmaker S.S. Rajamouli and his son S.S. Karthikeya experienced a “freaking” earthquake during their stay in Japan for a special screening of RRR, the latter said in a post on X (formerly Twitter), recalling how witnessing the tremors on the 28th floor of a building triggered panic.
Karthikeya took to social media platform X to share the startling experience with followers. Posting a picture of his smartwatch displaying the earthquake alert, he recounted the moment when the ground beneath them began to shift.
“Felt a freaking earthquake in Japan just now!!! Was on the 28th floor and slowly the ground started to move and it took us a while to realise it was an earthquake. I was just about to panic but all the Japanese around did not budge as if it just started to rain!! Experience an earthquake box ticked,” Karthikeya posted.
The earthquake in Japan measured 5.3 on the Richter scale, according to reports. The unexpected natural event added a unique twist to the trip for the RRR team, which also includes producer Shobu Yarlagadda.
Besides attending RRR screenings, they have been actively engaging with fans and sharing updates about Rajamouli’s next venture SSMB 29, which features actor Mahesh Babu in the lead role.
