Actors Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman celebrated their birthdays in advance with Deadpool & Wolverine director Shawn Levy, the filmmaker said on Tuesday, sharing pictures from the celebration.

“October is the best month for buddy birthdays🎂 A perfect fall day celebrating early with two of the BEST,” Levy wrote alongside pictures of the trio on Instagram.

Reynolds and Jackman held a four-tiered birthday cake with floral fondants and posed for a picture. The duo twinned in blue, with Reynolds sporting a faded blue polo sweater and Jackman donning a matching shirt and jeans.

Another photo shows the actors all smiles as they wrapped their arms around Levy’s shoulders. The trio took a stroll through the woods as part of their celebration.

While Reynolds will turn 48 on October 23, Jackman will be 56 on October 12.

Deadpool & Wolverine is the first R-rated MCU film ever. It revolves around Deadpool (Reynolds) who lives a mundane life until the Time Variance Authority recruits him to save his universe from destruction due to Wolverine's (Jackman) untimely demise. Teaming up with a Wolverine from an alternate universe, Deadpool embarks on a multiverse adventure filled with action, comedy and unexpected alliances, ultimately facing Charles Xavier’s evil twin Cassandra Nova to secure the fate of their reality.

Deadpool & Wolverine also stars Matthew Macfadyen as Paradox and Emma Corrin as Cassandra Nova, alongside returning Deadpool cast members Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle, Leslie Uggams as Blind Al, Karan Soni as Dopinder, Stefan Kapičić as Piotr Rasputin/Colossus, Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead, Rob Delaney as Peter, and Lewis Tan as Shatterstar.
