Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman-starrer Deadpool & Wolverine is inching closer to the Rs 80-crore mark at the Indian box office following a stellar opening weekend, as per trade data with Sacnilk.

According to Sacnilk, the Shawn Levy-directed superhero film has earned Rs 78.95 crore in India in five days.

Deadpool & Wolverine emerged as the highest Hollywood opener of 2024 with an opening day collection of Rs 21 crore nett on Friday. The Marvel movie minted Rs 22.65 crore nett on Saturday followed by Rs 22.3 crore nett on Sunday. It raked in Rs 6.75 crore nett on Monday. On Tuesday, Deadpool & Wolverine managed to add another Rs 6.25 crore nett to the collection.

Deadpool & Wolverine is poised to deliver one of the best opening week performances for a Hollywood release in India in recent times. James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way of Water earned Rs 193.6 crore nett in its opening week, the highest for a Hollywood film post pandemic.

However, with two major Bollywood releases this week — Janhvi Kapoor’s Ulajh and Ajay Devgn, Tabu-starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha — it remains to be seen how Deadpool & Wolverine will fare at the box office on its second weekend.

Globally, the film is closing in on the USD 500-million mark. According to Box Office Mojo, the Ryan Reynolds-starrer earned USD 496.3 million worldwide till Monday. With Tuesday’s earnings, it is expected to cross the USD 500 million mark.
