Roshan Mathew, Mohit Raina and Sarah Jane Dias are set to star in SonyLIV’s upcoming series Kan Khajura, adapted from the Israeli crime thriller drama Magpie, the streaming platform announced on Wednesday.
Known for the popular TV show Devon Ke Dev... Mahadev and web series Mumbai Diaries, Raina said it was always exciting as well as demanding for any actor to be cast in a thriller.
“I am glad to be part of this story. My character has various shades associated with it and that has been a great responsibility to portray. To get into the skin of the character, we tried on various looks that brought out a well-etched character,” Mohit Raina said in a statement.
Produced by Ajay Rai and directed by Chandan Arora, Kan Khajura marks the third adaptation of an Israeli series from Yes Studios for SonyLIV followed by Your Honor and Tanaav (Fauda).
The rest of the cast includes Mahesh Shetty, Ninad Kamat, Trinetra Haldar, Heeba Shah, and Usha Nadkarni.
Created by Adam Bizanski, Omri Shenhar, and Dana Eden, the show explores the complexities of fractured familial ties, touching on themes of betrayal, redemption and the resilience of the human spirit.
