Karan Johar’s Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (RRKPK) began its second week in theatres on a positive note, raking in Rs 7.1 crore nett on Day 8, according to Box Office India estimates.
The Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh-starrer romantic comedy has earned Rs 80.43 crore nett in India so far. It had a decent opening on July 28, minting Rs 11.1 crore nett on the day of its release. It went on to earn Rs 34.8 crore nett in its first weekend and remained steady during the weekdays too.
RRKPK earned Rs 7.01 crore nett on its first Monday, followed by Rs 7.30 crore nett on its first Tuesday, Rs 6.90 crore nett on its first Wednesday and Rs 6.21 crore nett on Thursday, the seventh day of its release, taking its Week 1 collections to Rs 73.33 crore nett. The film witnessed a 10 per cent jump in earnings on second Friday, netting Rs 7.10 crore nett and breaching the Rs 80-crore mark at the domestic box office.
Also starring Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Jaya Bachchan, Churni Ganguly and Tota Roy Choudhury in pivotal roles, Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani has grossed Rs 154 crore worldwide in eight days.
