Robert Pattinson, Amy Adams, Robert Downey Jr, Forest Whitaker and Danielle Deadwyler are set to star in Adam Mckay’s upcoming directorial venture Average Height, Average Build, American entertainment magazine Deadline has reported.

As per the report, the latest project from The Big Short and Don’t Look Up filmmaker is likely to go into production by late summer this year.

The film is touted as a part serial-killer thriller and part comedy, following a killer who uses political lobbyists to change laws to make it easier for him to kill.

Much like the McKay-produced series Succession and his directorial films Don’t Look Up and The Big Short, the upcoming film revolves around a story that reflects what’s going on in the world. Average Height, Average Build is likely to be a mix of black comedy and crime drama.

Pattinson will reportedly play a serial killer who enlists Adams’s character (a lobbyist) to change laws that will allow him to get away with murders more easily. Downey’s role in the film is that of a retired cop who won’t give up until he finds the murderer.

McKay has penned the script for Average Height, Average Build, to be produced by Hyperobject Industries’ McKay and Kevin Messick.

McKay’s last film Don’t Look Up starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Jennifer Lawrence in the lead roles, with an ensemble cast of Timothée Chalamet, Meryl Streep, Jonah Hill, Cate Blanchett, Mark Rylance and Tyler Perry. It was nominated for best picture at the Oscars. McKay also got a nod for best original screenplay.

Average Height, Average Build will mark a reunion for McKay and Adams, who worked together on the Oscar-nominated political satire Vice (2018). Adams was most recently seen in Disney’s Disenchanted and will star in Marielle Heller’s comedy horror Nightbitch.

Pattinson was last seen in The Batman and will next be seen in Bong Joon Ho’s Mickey 17. Downey will next be seen in Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, while Whitaker is currently shooting for Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis. Deadwyler garnered much attention this awards season for her role as Mamie Till-Mobley in Till.
