English singer-songwriter Robbie Williams talks about the “detrimental side” of fame in the teaser of his four-part Netflix documentary series, which was unveiled by the streamer on September 4.
Directed by Joe Pearlman, the documentary follows the extensive career of Williams spanning more than 30 years. It tracks the journey of the singer from his time as a member of the English boy band Take That to his rise as one of the most celebrated male singers of all time.
In the 36-second-long teaser, Williams talks about his time in the spotlight. “The thing that would destroy me has also made me successful,” he confesses. “Touch the fire. Touch the button, push when it says pull.” he continues as shots of thousands of fans filling stadiums around the world are shown.
The Angels singer also talks about the dark side of fame in the clip. “All of those things have given me my career, but there’s also a detrimental side to it too. It depends on which wolf you feed,” he is heard saying. The video also captures Williams’s quirks on the stage, including a shot that shows the singer hanging upside down during a concert, apart from behind-the-scenes footage.
Netflix’s X (previously Twitter) handle shared the trailer with the caption, “Let us (if you don’t mind) entertain you!” while confirming that the series will be coming to the streamer in the latter part of 2023.
