Ritwick Chakraborty and Indraneil Sengupta are set to headline the upcoming Bengali suspense thriller Porichoy Gupta, the teaser for which was released by the makers on social media recently.
Helmed by debutant director Ron Raj, the film boasts an ensemble cast. Joining Ritwick and Indraneil are Joy Sengupta, Darshana Banik and Ayantika Banerjee in pivotal roles.
“Search for identities begins in the land of the blind king!!! Unveiling the official Teaser of Bengali Film Porichoy Gupta. A Film By Ron Raj,” the official page dedicated to the film wrote on Facebook while sharing the one-minute-17-second long teaser.
Set against the backdrop of mid-20th century Bengal, Porichoy Gupta delves deep into the intriguing theme of hidden identities, as suggested by its title. The teaser revolves around an affluent landlord and his archeologist friend, whose lives intertwine in unexpected ways. Ritwick portrays the enigmatic landlord, while Indraneil Sengupta steps into the shoes of the archeologist.
Produced under the banner of Purnanjali Media Private Limited and Pandey Motion Pictures, Porichoy Gupta is slated to release in theatres soon.
Indraneil Sengupta was last seen as the iconic detective Feluda in Sandip Ray’s Nayan Rahasya. Ritwick Chakraborty, on the other hand, played a thief in Soukarya Ghosal’s Bhootpori. He also played the titular role in Hoichoi’s legal drama series Adv. Achinta Aich.
