Actor-director Rishab Shetty appears as a robust, blood-soaked avatar resembling Lord Shiva in the first-look teaser of Kantara prequel Kantara: Chapter 1, dropped by Hombale Films on Monday.
The one-minute-22-second-long teaser begins with a sharp scream which was also heard in the previous movie. “Light. Everyone can see everything in light. But this is not light, this is vision. Vision of what has happened, what is happening and what is going to happen, the light that shows everything. Can you see it?” a voiceover says while a mesmerising score by Ajaneesh Loknath plays in the background.
Rishab looks intense with his long hair and beard and is covered in blood from head to toe. The actor-director brandishes his trident and sword. A close-up of the actor shows fire in his eyes.
Kantara established a place in the global cinematic landscape last year with its retelling of Indian mythology. Also based on Indian folklore, Kantara: Chapter 1 will focus on a legend from the Kadambas’ reign.
The film’s production house, Hombale Films, took to Instagram on Monday to share the first-look posters of the film in seven languages. “Step into the land of the divine 🔥Presenting #KantaraChapter1 First Look & #Kantara1Teaser in 7 languages❤️🔥.”
Kantara: Chapter 1 also stars Saptami Gowda and Kishore. The release date of the film is not revealed yet.
