Popular animated series Rick and Morty is returning for its seventh season on Adult Swim from October 15, the American broadcast network announced on Thursday night.
“We ride together. We die together. We’re buried in the backyard together. Rick and Morty Season 7 is coming to @AdultSwim 10/15 #rickandmorty,” wrote the official X (previously Twitter) handle of the show along with a poster of the upcoming season.
Like other seasons of the Emmy-winning sci-fi comedy, Rick and Morty Season 7 will include 10 episodes.
In January, Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, who was also the voice of Rick, was axed from the global hit show and stripped of his lucrative overall deal after he was charged with domestic abuse.
Even though the domestic abuse charges were dropped in March, Roiland was also accused of bad workplace behaviour and abusing a fan through direct messages.
Last week, Adult Swim shared a new promo video to announce that the premiere date for the seventh season will be out soon. The new season features a voice cast of Chris Parnell, Spencer Grammer and Sarah Chalke.
An official Rick and Morty Season 7 description on Adult Swim’s website refers to the recasting following Roiland’s departure. “Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s season seven, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? EVIL Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. Rick and Morty, 100 years! Or at least until season 10!”
