Actress Richa Chadha has shared a series of behind-the-scenes pictures from the Netflix show Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar along with a gratitude note to mark one month of the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial. Here’s a look.
In a still from the shooting of the song Sakal Ban, Richa can be seen clad in a golden ethnic suit, practising her kathak steps. Bhansali guides the actress in the photo.
Draped in a regal sari paired with golden jewellery, Richa appeared in another frame with Bhansali. “It’s been a month since the premiere, surreal. Contrary to Lajjo’s grief, I was always cracking up and happy on set,” Richa wrote alongside the pictures.
Richa seemed engrossed in a still from the shoot. The actress wore a blue Anarkali and a gajra.
Richa shared a picture with her co-actress Manisha Koirala, who played the role of Mallikajaan in the series. Both actresses sport casual outfits and play with a dog on the sets.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Richa discuss a scene in between shoots.
One of the pictures shows Richa in conversation with Aditi Rao Hydari, Sharmin Segal, and Bhansali between shots. Aditi portrayed Bibbojaan in the series, while Sharmin took on the role of Alamzeb.
“I am grateful that your hands beautified me. No matter what an actor claims, it takes a village… and then beautiful lighting and costumes and jewellery. So thank you,” Richa wrote alongside the post.
Released on May 1, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar explores the lives of courtesans in Lahore's Heera Mandi red-light district during the Indian independence movement.
