Filmmaker Rian Johnson has wrapped filming for Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story, the third movie in the murder mystery franchise, he announced on Sunday through an Instagram post.
“Aaaaaand that’s a wrap on Wake Up Dead Man. Thank you to the best crew in the world and the most brilliant cast. This shoot was a VERY special experience, I cannot wait to put this thing together and show you all what we’ve got,” he wrote, conveying his gratitude to the cast and crew of the upcoming thriller headlined by Daniel Craig, who returns as the private detective Benoit Blanc in the latest movie of the franchise.
Johnson also shared a behind-the-scenes picture to announce the wrap. The picture shows a graveyard and a placard driven into the earth. “Please be mindful of the graves,” reads the placard.
Josh O'Connor, Cailee Spaeny, Andrew Scott, Mila Kunis, Kerry Washington, Josh Brolin and Jeremy Renner also feature in Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story. Filming for the third instalment began in June this year.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Story is expected to arrive on Netflix in 2025.
The Knives Out franchise began in 2019 with the release of the eponymous first film. Its success led to a second instalment, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, in 2022. Both films are now available to stream on Netflix.
