Producer Rhea Kapoor on Sunday congratulated her husband Karan Boolani in a note on social media for bagging the Best Debut Director award at IIFA 2024 for their film Thank You For Coming.
“Congratulations @karanboolani I couldn’t be prouder of you and the film we made together. We told a story that isn’t the easiest to tell but we believed and jumped with all our heart,” she wrote on Instagram.
Recalling the time Karan stood by her when she was nervous about producing the 2010 film Aisha, the 37-year-old producer also wrote, “When I was 21 and made Aisha I was just as nervous and scared but you stood by me like a rock and told me that even if people don’t get it, it’s going to be ok because my heart was in the right place. You were right.”
“Thank You For Coming is the film I’m proudest of, it’s the bravest, most vulnerable, sensitive thing I’ve ever done and there is no one I could’ve trusted more than you to nurture it. You made us all feel safe, heard and understood. We love you and congratulations! P.S if you haven’t seen this wicked, heartfelt movie we made, it’s streaming now on @netflix_in,” she signed off.
Written by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh, Thank You For Coming stars Bhumi Pednekar, Kusha Kapila and Shehnaaz Kaur Gill. It revolves around five best friends who assemble at a family gathering and embark on a journey to discover the true depth of their friendship and love.
